Nearest Major Points:

  • Bagdogra Airport (West Bengal) – 220 km (~10-12 hrs drive).

  • New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station – 210 km (~10 hrs).

  • Gangtok (Capital of Sikkim) – 120 km (~6-7 hrs).

Route:

  1. Gangtok → Mangan → Chungthang → Lachung

    • The road is steep & winding, but the views are spectacular.

    • Permit Required: Indian nationals need an Inner Line Permit (ILP); foreigners require a Protected Area Permit (PAP).

  2. Only Shared Jeeps or Private Tours Allowed (No self-driving for tourists).
